EQUA Mead Learning Trust

EQUA Mead Poetry Slam November 2025

The first Trust wide pupil enrichment event took place at Dauntsey Primary Academy this week with an overarching theme of Equality and Diversity.

All schools taking part should be hugely proud of the courage, talent and conduct of their pupils.  The performances were brilliant but even more importantly it was delightful to witness the sense of fun,  friendship and peer support shown by all.  The ‘slam’ concluded with the performance of a Trust wide poem which was learnt that morning.

A huge thank you to students from both  John of Gaunt and Lavington Schools who sat on our judging panel providing a unique perspective along with Lyn and Sue, our two community judges who willingly gave up their time.  Judging such high quality acts could not have been easy!

There were 4 winning categories:

  • Best Overall Performance – won by Woodborough School
  • Best Expressive Performance – won by The Mead School
  • Best Drama and Movement – won by Southwick School
  • Best Articulation and Prosody – won by Dauntsey Academy

The morning clearly highlighted the values of community, collaboration and opportunity that are so important within EQUA Mead.
